AMMAN — The Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB), in partnership with the Islamic Relief Agency, on Saturday launched a programme to support Bedouin communities living in different parts of the Jordanian Badia region.

This programme involves distributing charitable packages and assistance to families living in remote desert areas, far away from commercial centres and public stores, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The director of the fund, Jamal Al Fayez said that the programme, which is the first of its kind in the country, is based on the findings of a study conducted by the fund to identify areas in need of support and assistance in all regions of the Jordanian Badia.

During the upcoming phase, the fund plans to provide support for Bedouin communities in the fields of health and education, as well as conducting field visits to identify their needs and demands, he noted. In the last campaign, around 450 families in the northern, central, and southern regions of the Jordanian Badia benefited from the programme.
