Princesses, athletes honoured at JOC women’s day celebrations

AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Prince Faisal, head of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), JOC Vice President Sari Hamdan on Saturday honoured a number of Jordanian women athletes in a ceremony at Al Hussein Youth City, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the athletes thanked Prince Faisal for his support and recognition of the role of women in aiding and furthering Jordan’s athletic and Olympic endeavours. In the field of equestrian sports, Princess Alia was honoured among others athletes.
Princess Rahma was honoured in the gymnastics category, among other athletes, as well as Princess Aya in the volleyball category, and Princess Zaina in taekwondo.
