AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), on Tuesday met with representatives of special education centres in the Kingdom over the challenges facing these centres amid the COVID-19 pandemic that contributed to the disruption of education for several students.
Prince Mired said that the pandemic has also led to halting the disbursement of allocations for these centres, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prince highlighted the importance of enhancing coordination between the ministries of social development and education and the HCD to contribute to alleviating the obstacles facing these centres, which should be considered among the most affected sectors by the pandemic.
The representatives reviewed the procedural complications resulting from transferring the authority of issuing licences from the Social Development Ministry to the Education Ministry.
