Prince Ghazi opens new Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies building

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Prince Ghazi, the King’s personal envoy and religious affairs adviser, attended on Tuesday the inauguration ceremony of the new building of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, affiliated with the University of Oxford, England.
The centre was established in 1985 with the aim of encouraging the academic study of Islam and the Muslim world, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Prince of Wales is the Patron of the Centre.
It is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting scholars and statesmen from different parts of the world, alongside representatives of the University of Oxford, according to the centre’s website: www.oxcis.ac.uk.
