Police chief receives members of House committee on women

AMMAN — Public Security Department (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sarhan Faqih on Thursday met with the Lower House Women and Family Affairs Committee, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The meeting came to discuss measures at the Family Protection Unit and the Juvenile Police Department, in addition to correctional and rehabilitation centres.
Faqih stressed that protecting families is among the priorities of the PSD, noting the establishment of the concerned departments to deal with family affairs.
He also commended the role of the rehabilitations centres in providing services to female inmates to enable them to contact their families, and empower them to improve their lives after being released.
