PM welcomes new Lower House Speaker

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday congratulated MP Ahmad Safadi on his election as speaker of the Lower House, and wished him success during the current ordinary session, which will witness work to move ahead with the political, economic and administrative modernisation plans.
Khasawneh said that Safadi “enjoys long experience” in parliamentary work, stressing confidence that Safadi will follow suit of previous speakers who contributed to realising several achievements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also expressed appreciation for former speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi who is, according to Khasawneh, a local and Arab parliamentary and political figure that led an extraordinary session that met several targets and made achievements with important legislative roles.
