PM mourns passing of former foreign minister Nuseibeh

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday mourned the passing of former foreign minister Hazem Nuseibeh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prime minister recalled the venerable service of the late minister, diplomat and academic Nuseibeh. He assumed several ministerial positions, including minister of foreign affairs, minister of construction and minister of state for prime ministry affairs.
Serving as senator several times, Nuseibeh was also Jordan's ambassador to Egypt and Turkey. Serving in the radio, press and publication departments, he worked as a professor at the University of Jordan and a representative of Jordan at the UNRWA advisory council.
The late minister, born in Jerusalem in 1922, was honoured on a number of occasions, receiving the Order of the Star of Jordan, among other Arab and foreign awards.
