AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday held its first remote meeting headed by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz through a specialised electronic application.
Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Sami Daoud stated that the remote meeting is part of measures to sustain government activities in the face of COVID-19, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Daoud asserted that the session “proceeded as usual”, with the attendance of the majority of ministers.
He noted that Cabinet sessions will continue remotely over the next two weeks until further notice, in compliance with the government's precautionary and preventive measures to deal with the novel coronavirus.
Regarding the decisions taken by the Cabinet, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said that the Cabinet approved an agreement with the Government of Cyprus in the field of tax cooperation.
The Cabinet also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs and the German Hanns Seidel Foundation in the field of awareness and political empowerment and a draft by-law on the Judicial Institute of Jordan for the year 2020, he added.
