AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Saturday received a delegation from the Jordanian Veterinary Association (JVA) and listened to a briefing on the challenges facing the profession.
JVA President Nabil Lobani said the only faculty for veterinary medicine is at the Jordan University of Science and Technology and it graduates only 15 to 20 veterinarians annually, which is not enough due to the expansion in the sector and brain drain. He also called for increasing scholarships for studying this major.
Ensour said the government is interested in finding suitable solutions to the problems facing the sector.
