PM attends Amman City Day activities in Dubai Expo

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Saturday attended Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM) activities to celebrate Amman City Day in Dubai, which have been held within Expo 2020 Dubai, to show the GAM’s strategies, policies and plans, as well as achievements and future visions. Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh reviewed GAM’s efforts put in projects related to electronic transformation, public transport, investment and the development of the legislative system, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the ceremony, attended by representatives from Arab and foreign bodies, embassies and consulates, as well as representatives from companies and sectors specialised in the fields of smart cities, IT, transportation, investment, in addition to businesspeople, Shawarbeh said that the GAM has JD1 billion investable assets, out of the GAM’s JD2.4 billion total assets. He added that the municipality has established an investment arm represented by Amman Vision for Investment Company (AVIC) to enhance revenues away from fees and taxes collection. The AVIC shared nine investment opportunities at a total value of $250 million.
