PM, Anani meet Arab officials as they attend summit

AMMAN — On the sidelines of the Arab summit in Nouakchott, Prime Minister Hani Mulki met with his Egyptian counterpart Sharif Ismail, and went over possible ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially at the economic level.

In this regard, the prime ministers agreed to arrange a visit, in the following few days, by Egyptian ministers and president of the Suez Canal Authority to the Kingdom to meet their Jordanian counterparts over issues of mutual interests to strengthen bilateral economic relations.

Mulki also met with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam, and discussed bilateral ties and the importance of following up on the outcomes of the London donor conference regarding the support to countries hosting Syrian refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Jawad Anani, a member of the Jordanian delegation to the summit, met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al Jaafari and discussed procedures necessary to facilitate the movement of goods between the two countries.

 

They also discussed necessary means to resume land transport through the borders, Petra added.
