AMMAN — Palestinian Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ashraf Al Awar emphasised the importance of the Hashemite custodianship led by His Majesty King Abdullah over the Islamic and Christian holy sites, highlighting its strategic impact on preserving these sites, which are fundamental to the Palestinian presence in the city of Jerusalem.
During his visit on Wednesday to the headquarters of the Union of Arab Academics and Scientists in Amman, Al Awar underscored the pivotal role played by Jordan’s leadership, government, and people in the Palestinian cause.
Al Awar pointed out the significant role Jordan plays in alleviating the suffering of the people of Gaza by providing urgent aid.
“Jordan has been at the forefront of delivering aid under the directives of His Majesty, encouraging other countries to follow Jordan's example,“ he added.
Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan said that many Jordanians died in defending Palestine, which” makes us one people and one nation, bound by blood and brotherhood.”
