Palestinian Affairs Department hails resumption of US support to UNRWA

AMMAN — Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Khirfan on Sunday praised the resumption of US support to UNRWA, which he said will positively reflect on regional security and stability.

During his meeting with Richard Albright, acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration at the US Department of State, both sides went over several issues related to the work of UNRWA, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The talks focused on the recurrent financial deficit of the agency and the importance of finding solutions to this problem. Khirfan and Albright discussed UNRWA plans to update work in its five areas of operation: The West Bank, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
