AMMAN — The national association for the care of inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centres will today host an open day to raise funds for inmates within the gharimeen (indebted people) category.
The initiative is organised in cooperation with the Husna FM radio station, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. It targets those who do not have a criminal record but have been detained for being unable to pay their debts such as rent and electric bills, with the hope of reuniting them with their families before Eid Al Fitr.
The association’s director, Mohammad Abu Sufeh, commended the efforts of the Public Security Department’s correctional and rehabilitation centres administration for helping in nominating inmates who could benefit from the initiative.
