Oddat meets with Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Monday met Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

Oddat highlighted the kingdom’s ongoing support to Christians in Jerusalem and the region, stressing that the Hashemite Custodianship over Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem has contributed and will remain the historical, legal and religious guarantee for the preservation of these shrines.

Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Archbishop Pizzaballa expressed appreciation for His Majesty Abdullah efforts towards safeguarding Jerusalem’s holy sites, highlighting that Jordan has set an example in advocating peace, dialogue and rejecting violence and extremism.

Also on Monday, Oddat discussed with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Dihani means of advancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
