AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday met with representatives of international NGOs and discussed the challenges they face in implementing Jordan’s 2015 response plan to the Syrian crisis.
During the meeting, attended by Interior Minister Hussein Majali and Planning Minister Ibrahim Saif, the NGO representatives presented briefings on their plans and programmes aiming to alleviate Jordan’s burdens as a result of the Syrian crisis through directing aid to host communities as well as refugee camps.
They also called for partnerships with the concerned ministries to ensure the resilience and sustainability of host communities.
Ensour thanked the relief organisations for helping the refugee-burdened Kingdom, saying that handling the Syrian refugee crisis should be the responsibility of the international community and not only Jordan.
