AMMAN — Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi on Monday signed agreements to open two productive units in Madaba and Mafraq to provide 400 job opportunities for local residents, a ministry statement said.
The agreements were signed to provide training and employment opportunities to residents of areas with high unemployment and to attract investments, according to the statement.
Ghezawi said the agreements were signed after conducting several visits and holding meetings with investors to encourage them to establish projects in remote areas. He said that there were currently 16 units, with 10 more expected to open in the next phase and another 20 in the third phase of the project.
The minister expected all the projects to employ around 12,000 Jordanians around the Kingdom, mainly in remote areas.
