AMMAN — A committee comprising representatives of the Royal Hashemite Court, the Awqaf Ministry and the Greater Amman Municipality had been formed to prepare the necessary designs to establish a new glass planetarium for Al Husseini Mosque at the expense of His Majesty King Abdullah after the mosque’s external yards suffered damages due to the weather conditions and snowfall.
Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh made the announcement, which followed Royal directives, on Thursday as he and Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi visited the mosque to check on the damage. The mosque was rehabilitated in 2019 after a fire, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Khalaileh told Petra that the new planetarium will cover the external yards of the mosque in a way that contributes to increasing the capacity of worshippers and accords with the religious and historical status of the mosque.
