AMMAN — New student discipline instructions for public and private schools for the year 2017 were published in the Official Gazette issue number 5455 on April 16, a Sisterhood is Global Institute (SIGI) statement said Wednesday.
Similar to previous instructions, they apply disciplinary measures to students who violate school regulations starting from the seventh grade and above, said the SIGI.
The advocacy group highlighted that a number of practices by teachers, supervisors or principals were prohibited, including corporal punishment and solitary or collective punishment.
