AMMAN — The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) and the Business Development Centre (BDC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to implement several training programmes in agricultural fields, targeting farmers, agronomists and rural women.
NARC Director General Nizar Haddad said that this agreement will empower young people through qualifying and training them in agricultural fields and create job opportunities, according to a BDC statement.
The training programmes seek to empower farmers, agricultural engineers and rural women to adopt good agricultural practices and introduce modern technologies in the agricultural process, he said.
The agricultural innovation incubator at the centre will be a networking station for entrepreneurship and development of ideas into pioneering projects, he added.
BDC Director General Ghaleb Hijazi said that the signing of the agreement will lead to the adaptation of modern technology and scientific research in agricultural fields.
He added that increasing global and local interest in entrepreneurship and encouraging ideas and pioneering projects for young people would contribute to knowledge-based economic growth that focuses on quality and sustainability.
