AMMAN — Culture Minister Haifa Najjar on Thursday met with the Lebanese Embassy’s Chargé d'Affairs Yousef Emile Raji to discuss furthering cultural relations between the two countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Najjar praised the historical relations binding the two countries, stressing Jordan's support to Lebanon under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah.
Najjar also called for the signing of a cultural executive programme between the two countries. Raji lauded Jordan's role in the region and its support for Lebanon to overcome the challenges it faces, especially after the Beirut explosion incident.
Jordan and Lebanon signed their first cultural agreement in 2001, followed by two executive programmes for cultural cooperation in the years 2010-2012 and 2015-2016, according to Petra.
