Monday marks 37th death anniversary of former PM Sharaf

AMMAN — Monday marks the 37th anniversary of the death of former prime minister Sharif Abdul Hamid Sharaf, who passed away on July 3, 1980. Born in 1939, Sharaf served as director of the Foreign Ministry’s international organisation department and became director general of Jordan Radio.
Sharaf also served as an ambassador in the Foreign Ministry and was later named minister of culture. He was Jordan’s permanent representative to the UN and also served as Royal Court chief. Sharaf assumed the post of prime minister prior to his death.
