Ministers discuss procurement by-law with World Bank official

AMMAN — Government and World Bank officials on Monday discussed the government’s draft unified procurement by-law.
At a meeting that brought Minister of Public Sector Development Khleef Al Khawaldeh, Minister of Public Works Sami Halaseh and top officials from the ministries of health and finance together with Yolanda Taylor, the senior specialist for procurement at the World Bank, the officials stressed the need to send amendments agreed upon with the World Bank to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau for endorsement, a statement from the Ministry of Public Sector Development said.
The draft by-law entails unifying procurement systems and government tenders to develop the capacities of public agencies involved in procurement.
