AMMAN — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal highlighted to EU Special Representative Susanna Terstal the role of the Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department in its efforts to preserve religious endowments across Palestine in general, and the occupied Holy City, Jerusalem, in particular.

According to an official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the Jerusalem Department, which operates under the administration of Jordan’s Awqaf Ministry, plays an indispensable role in the endeavour to preserve religious heritage and holy sites across occupied Jerusalem.

During the meeting, Abul Bassal invited Trestal to visit the occupied city herself to witness, first-hand, the continued Israeli violations, calling upon the international community and the European Union, to stop ongoing and relentless Israeli attempts to alter the historical reality of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque complex.
