Kuwait municipal delegation visits Amman

AMMAN — President of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Committee Yousef Shawarbeh and head of the Kuwait municipal council Muhalhel Khaled discussed means to enhance cooperation, boost bilateral relations and exchange expertise between their two cities. Khaled was heading a delegation to Amman upon the invitation of GAM to get acquainted with future plans and projects in the capital, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shawarbeh said that GAM’s budget for 2017 stands at some JD496 million, allocated to cope with the city’s expansion in light of the population growth in the city that houses some 4.2 million people. For his part, Khaled praised the “advanced level” Amman has achieved in all fields, expressing Kuwait municipality’s interest to cooperate and exchange expertise with GAM to benefit both capitals’ residents and improve municipal work.
