The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, covered US support for Jordan, as well as for development projects and others related to the environment and mitigating climate change and its impact on natural resources.

The latest regional developments were also discussed, with His Majesty stressing the importance of concentrating efforts to prevent renewed escalations in the Palestinian Territories, and working in coordination with the international community to relaunch the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

Discussing the burden of the refugees crisis shouldered by Jordan, which hosts over than 1.3 million Syrian refugees, His Majesty emphasised the need for the international community to step up to its commitments in that regard.

The King said Jordan was at the forefront of countries that provided refugees with COVID-19 vaccines.

His Majesty expressed appreciation to the US administration for providing necessary assistance and COVID-19 vaccines.
