AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Tuesday ordered beneficiations (makruma) for JAF and security personnel on the occasion of the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt and other national occasions.

King Abdullah granted the Great Arab Revolt centennial badge to all JAF and security departments' personnel, according to a Royal Court statement.

He also issued directives to promote all first warrant officers who hold Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate Examination) and higher certificates, regardless of the duration of service in the rank, and warrant officers with at least a Tawjihi certificate who have served for three years in the rank by July 31 to the rank of second lieutenant.

His Majesty also issued instructions to grant the other personnel of the army and security agencies a six-month period to be added to each beneficiary’s duration of service in the current rank, the statement added.

Under the Royal makruma, the King ordered the release of all apprehended security personnel for charges of minor discipline-related violations that do not affect the military honour and do not involve rights of other people, in addition to exempting security personnel from financial fines imposed as a result of court rulings.
