King attends Royal Military College graduation ceremony

Knights of the Future class includes non-Jordanian officers

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday attended the graduation ceremony of the 1st batch of “Knights of the Future” commissioned officers at the Royal Military College.

Upon His Majesty’s  arrival, the King was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat and Brig. Gen. Salamah Subhi, the college’s commander. 

The graduation ceremony began with the military brass band playing the national anthem then His Majesty reviewed the graduates marching before the dais.

Mufti of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army Brig. Gen Majed Darawsheh delivered a speech, in which he praised the graduates, stressing that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty, will remain role models in moderation and a strong “fortress” in the face of enemies.

He added that the fresh graduates are an asset for the Kingdom, as the officers have been trained to embrace principles and values of military service and leadership skills.

For his part, Subhi said that the college is continuously improving its performance and the quality of its graduates  following the guidelines of JAF training curricula including field training.

HRH Prince Hashem, the Chief Chamberlain, Prime Minister Hani Mulki, acting Senate president Marouf Bakhit, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh, Judicial Council President Mohammad Gazo,  Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh and an array of senior officials, lawmakers and diplomats attended the event.

 

Representative of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Maj. Gen. Arif Zabin presented certificates to the graduates, 87 of whom are from Kuwait.
