King attends int’l aviation show in Russia

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday attended the International Aviation and Space Show (MAKS) hosted by Russia’s Zhukovsky city, a Royal Court statement said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin received the King upon arrival to the six-day show, which is held annually. His Majesty, Putin and heads of delegations watched an air show performed by Russian airplanes.

The two leaders toured MAKS, which is one of the “biggest and most important international exhibitions specialised in aviation and air defence industries according to the statement”.

The King and heads of delegations were briefed by specialists on the most advanced technologies produced by Russian companies in the field of military air defence.

On the sidelines of MAKS, His Majesty met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also the deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces. They discussed cooperation between the two countries in most fields as well as recent regional developments.

The King and the Crown Prince highlighted the depth of Jordanian-UAE relations.

His Majesty was accompanied by HRH Prince Feisal, King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, King’s National Security Adviser and General Intelligence Department Director Gen. Faisal Shobaki and Rapporteur of the National Policies Council Abdullah Wreikat.
