King Abdullah University field hospital to start operations soon

AMMAN — The Health Ministry's field hospital that was built on campus of the King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid will start operations in the next few days, Irbid Health Director Riyadh Shiyyab said on Saturday.

The 300-bed hospital, including 48 ICU beds, is envisioned to contribute to enhance efforts in handling the pandemic and providing the best health services to COVID patients who are hospitalised, Shiyyab told the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Meanwhile, Shiyyab said that there are 43 epidemiological investigation teams working in the northern governorate that carry out some 6,000 tests per day.
