AMMAN — Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Saleh Kharabsheh said on Saturday that Jordan Oil Terminals Company (JOTC) should adopt a work method to enhance its strategic reserves of fuel derivatives and ensure the sustainability of power supplies.

During a visit to oil facilities of JOTC in Madounah in East Amman, Kharabsheh stressed the need to adopt an integration principle in the company through the most efficient utilisation of oil facility infrastructure in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The minister, during a meeting with JOTC Chairman Shadi Majali, JOTC Director General Kholoud Mahasneh and other stakeholders, stressed the need to optimally use available resources to enhance the company’s revenues.

He also discussed how to keep pace with technological developments in the sector for the JOTC to have an added economic value.

The minister also urged the company to maintain a strategic reserve as per accredited standards and commit to safety procedures in oil facilities. He praised the company’s role in maintaining a strategic reserve for the Kingdom and ensuring the availability of fuel derivatives during emergencies.

Majali highlighted the JOTC’s important role in enhancing the Kingdom’s strategic fuel derivative reserves and guaranteeing adequate reserves of fuel derivatives in emergencies.
