AMMAN — With the support of the Swiss embassy and Terre des hommes Lausanne, a dozen experts in juvenile justice from national and international organisations met this week to prepare for the second juvenile justice world congress that will take place in Geneva between January 26 and 30, according to an embassy statement.
“The juvenile justice world congress, co-organised by the Swiss Confederation and Terre des hommes Lausanne, will aim at promoting the implementation of international norms and standards protecting children in conflict with the law,” an embassy statement said.
The preparatory consultation in Amman enabled juvenile justice experts to identify good practices and present recommendations for improvement within the juvenile justice system in Jordan.
These outcomes “will be shared with the different experts and moderators in charge of facilitating the congress”.
