AMMAN — Jordanian graduates of US universities and institutes launched the “US Universities Graduates Club in Jordan” earlier this week, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times. The club’s founders chose a temporary administrative board for the upcoming six months.
The founder of the initiative, Khaled Tarawneh, said that more than 300 Jordanian graduates of US universities agreed to establish the club once the idea was put forward. The club, he added, will seek to strengthen relations with similar US institutions and bodies and bolster the ties between the Jordanians and the Americans.
There are around 5,000 Jordanian graduates of US universities, the statement said. A number of current and former ministers, university presidents and Jordanian political and social personalities have accepted to be members of the club.
