AMMAN — Jordanian Wassfi Hassan Sreihin has recently been re-elected as secretary general of the African-Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO) for a four-year term in the special session of the executive committee meeting held in New Delhi.

Sreihin won 10 votes out of 13, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times. AARDO, one of the earliest examples of South-South cooperation and Afro-Asian solidarity, is an international, autonomous, inter-governmental organisation established in 1962 with the vision of improving the quality of life of rural people in its member countries through promoting coordinated efforts, exchange of experiences and cooperative action.

Based in New Delhi, assisted by six regional offices, the organisation comprises 30 member governments and one associate member.
