Jordan takes part in 3rd Arab forum on energy sector

AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Thursday called for availing of Jordan's strategic location to become a hub for exporting clean energy.
Addressing the third Arab Forum organised by the Arab Federation of Chemical and Petrochemical Industries (AFCPI), on behalf Kharabsheh, Assistant Secretary-General for Energy Affairs Hassan Hiyari said that the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV) is a roadmap of Jordan's transformation towards renewable and alternative energy sources.
The EMV also outlines developing power and electricity stations, enhancing regional interconnection, enacting energy sector-related regulations and policies to accommodate future requirements, and introducing incentives to cut costs, he added.
Under the theme "Key Challenges of Global Energy Crisis", the forum covered the major challenges of the global energy crisis, the Russian-Ukrainian war and the subsequent energy crisis in Europe as well as challenges facing petrochemical industries, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
