AMMAN — Jordan on Tuesday condemned with strongest terms the Israeli aggression on Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza.

The Foreign Ministry held Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for the "dangerous" development in occupied Palestinian territories.

The ministry's spokesperson Sufian Qudah was quoted in a ministry statement as voicing Jordan's strong condemnation of the ongoing escalation in the occupied West Bank and Israeli settlers' "terrorist acts" against the Palestinians.

Qudah said that such escalation goes against all humanitarian and moral values and the international law, according to the statement.

Qudah called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the Israel crimes against civilians and end its war against Gaza.

He also underlined the need to abide by the Jordanian-drafted United Nations General Assembly resolution on protecting civilians, respecting the international and international humanitarian law and providing international protection of the Palestinian people.

Qudah also labelled the Israeli ongoing war against Gaza, its ground invasion and siege of the strip as “collective punishment of more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza and a war crime pushing the whole region into abyss”.
