Jordan records 7 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The Kingdom recorded eight new coronavirus cases on Sunday — seven locally transmitted cases and one case from outside the Kingdom — bringing Jordan's total caseload to 961.

During a press conference on Sunday, Health Minister Saad Jaber said the new COVID-19 cases included six individuals who were in contact with an infected person in Ramtha, one in Balqa Governorate and one person who had come from Yemen.

The minister also said that four people left Prince Hamzah Hospital on Sunday,   bringing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Jordan to 682 cases. A total of 139 COVID-19 cases are currently under treatment in the Kingdom, he said.  

Jaber added that 8,607 coronavirus tests were conducted on Sunday, bringing the total number of tests since the beginning of the crisis to 275,480.

Jaber also said that around 600,000 people have downloaded the “AMAN” (Safety) App, a mobile application that notifies users if they happened to be in the vicinity of a diagnosed coronavirus patient.
