Jordan reaffirms stance on Palestinian cause during Russia meeting

AMMAN — Jordan holds steadfast positions on regional issues in general and primarily the Palestinian cause, said head of the Lower House’s Foreign Affairs Committee, MP Nidal Taani, on Monday.
In a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Jordan Gleb Desiatnikov, Taani said that the Palestinian issue tops Jordan’s priorities, stressing that a just and comprehensive peace requires solving it in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions that lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Solving the Palestinian issue would enhance regional security and stability, Taani added, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
For his part, Desiatnikov expressed Russia’s appreciation for the Jordanian role regional and international roles, as the meeting covered relations and cooperation in all fields.
The MP also highlighted the importance of providing all the means necessary to enhance commercial and cultural exchanges and to bolster Russian investments in Jordan.
