Jordan Labour Watch commends striking of Social Security Law amendments

AMMAN — The Jordan Labour Watch, affiliated with the Phenix Centre for Economic and Informatics Studies, on Monday expressed appreciation for  the government and the Social Security Corporation’s (SSC) response which eliminated a number of proposed amendments to the Social Security Law, notably those related to health insurance, early retirement and pension calculation. 

A Jordan Labour Watch statement highlighted the importance of the government and SSC cooperation and enhancing a dialogue policy with the social protection-related institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The statement added that cancelling the proposed amendments would enhance social protection in Jordan, calling for developing a health insurance system for all social security subscribers, retirees and beneficiaries.
