Jordan, Indonesia sign security cooperation agreement

AMMAN — The Interior Ministry and Indonesian National Counter-Terrorism Agency on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding for security cooperation between the two countries, mainly in counter-terrorism fields.
Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah and Rafli Amar, head of the agency, signed the memo, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Faraiah said that Jordan maintained its prominent position among world nations as a stable and secure country with “strong and professional” security agencies.
The minister also noted that the memo included several security cooperation aspects, mainly counter-terrorism that requires cooperation among countries, especially that terror acts are now carried out by highly organised terror groups.
For his part, Amar stressed that the memo will contribute to enhancing cooperation and developing security cooperation between the two countries.
