AMMAN — Jordan will host the annual conference of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) in November, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Owners of tour operators, travel agents and affiliate partners will meet to discuss the complexities of running a travel business in the current marketplace, the organisers said in a statement. The conference will be sponsored by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Royal Jordanian airlines, and held at several locations including the Dead Sea and Petra.
“The Kingdom has been described as ‘a quiet street in a busy area’, and has much to offer the visitor culturally, historically and scenically,” AITO Chairperson Derek Moore said. Meanwhile, JTB Managing Director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat said the board was “thrilled” to welcome AITO members to the region, describing the conference as effective marketing for the Kingdom.
