Jordan assumes presidency of PERSGA

AMMAN — Jordan took over the presidency of the Regional Organisation for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) during its 17th Ministerial Council meeting which was held in Amman on Thursday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Environment Minister Yaseen Khayyat assumed the presidency of the organistation after his Egyptian counterpart Khaled Fahmy concluded his two-year term.
The minister commended the regional cooperation that exist under PERSGA in preserving the biodiversity of the Red Sea and its coastal areas.
