AMMAN — The Lower House’s joint committee for energy and finance named Deputy Yousef Qorneh as its head on Tuesday.
The panel is tasked with discussing the government decision to raise electricity prices by 15 per cent as of January 1.
The committee also named Deputy Atef Qaawar as rapporteur.
Qorneh said the joint committee was formed upon a Lower House recommendation to set a work plan to discuss the government decision.
He added that the committee will meet with government stakeholders to listen to their views on the decision.
Afterwards, the panel will send its final report to the House.
