Japanese ambassador to Jordan tours development projects in Salt

AMMAN — Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru on Tuesday toured development projects in Salt city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During his visit, he was briefed on development projects funded by the Japanese government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Kaoru was accompanied by Balqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud and Director of the Salt Reconstruction Foundation Khaldoun Khreisat. Khreisat stressed the importance of these projects, which contribute to the development of tourism in Salt, which is classified as part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, which renders the city a “magnet” for internal and external tourism.

Kaoru praised the role of the Salt Reconstruction Foundation and its efforts in cooperation with various parties in developing the city, and providing it with bases for tourism, praising the cooperative relations between Jordan and Japan in various fields.

He also affirmed the Japanese government's support for development projects in the various governorates of the Kingdom.
