By JT - Feb 22,2017 - Last updated at Feb 22,2017

AMMAN — Japan has decided to extend a new assistance package, which amounts to approximately $29 million, from its supplementary budget of 2016, in order to assist Jordan as it faces regional turmoil and the influx of refugees, according to statement released by the Japanese embassy this week.

Under the new assistance package, the grants will be provided mainly for international organisations for the implementation of projects that aim at providing humanitarian assistance for Syrian refugees, host communities and preventing radicalisation and terrorism, the statement said.
