JAF raids seize drugs, firearms and ammunition — 2022 figures

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) in 2021 seized 17,878 palm-sized sheets of hashish. This is up from 9,522 sheets in 2020, the JAF statement said on Monday. In 2022, JAF has seized 6,643 sheets of hashish, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, citing JAF figures and efforts in combating smuggling attempts in the Kingdom.

In 2020, JAF seized more than 1.4 million Captagon pills, with the number increasing to 15.5 million pills in 2021.

In 2022, a total of 5.5 Captagon pills have been seized so far. Smuggling attempts were not restricted to drugs, with JAF personnel seizing 24 weapons and 340 types of ammunition in 2020, 143 weapons and 3,236 types of ammunition in 2021.
