JAF foils infiltration attempt to neighbouring country

AMMAN — Troops at the Southern Military Zone on Sunday foiled an illegal border crossing attempt by a number of non-Jordanian individuals from the Kingdom to a neighbouring country, according to an official military source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
After implementing the rules of engagement, security personnel arrested the individuals who attempted to infiltrate the neighbouring country, the source said, adding that those arrested were referred to the relevant authorities.
The source reiterated that the army will apply “full force” to thwart any illegal crossing or smuggling attempts to protect the Kingdom’s borders, citizens and national security, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
