Irrigation minister, French ambassador converse ways to enhance collaboration in fields of water, sanitation

AMMAN — Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Saud, on Tuesday discussed ways to enhance collaboration in the fields of water and sanitation with French Ambassador Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison. 

During the meeting, Abu Saud reviewed the ministry’s efforts in enhancing water and sanitation services and also highlighted projects funded by France, as well as some French investments that have significantly contributed to the water sector in the Kingdom.

Abu Saud also outlined the ministry’s endeavours in executing water projects that provide sustainable solutions for additional water supplies, such as the National Carrier project, affirming that the government is working to expedite the implementation of this important national project.

He also emphasised the importance of the participation from private sectors in the operation and maintenance of water and sanitation facilities. He seeks to enhance the partnership of the private sector to improve performance to reach the best level in water and sanitation services.

He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the French side in enhancing collaboration in the water sector and the many projects that have been implemented during the past period.

The French ambassador commended the ministry’s efforts to tackle the escalating water challenges. He also reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to Jordanian-French collaboration for the mutual benefit of both nations.
