AMMAN — Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is scheduled to begin his first regional tour on Saturday, an Iraqi government source announced on Thursday.
The source said that Abdul Mahdi’s tour will begin in Egypt and will include Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, in addition to Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jordan and Iraq enjoy “distinguished relations”, through which Amman and Baghdad have recently signed six agreements in the fields of energy, industry, trade, agriculture, transport and ICT, which are pending implementation.
The Iraqi prime minister abstained from paying any external visit since the Iraqi House of Representatives approved his government and granted it confidence in October, Petra added.
