House speaker stresses importance of media sector

AMMAN — The media is a main partner for the Lower House, Chamber's Speaker Ahmad Safadi said on Tuesday.

During a meeting with Director-General of the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation Ibrahim Bawarid, Director General of the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Fairouz Mubaidin, and CEO of Al Mamlaka TV and Director of Media Commission Bashir Momani, Safadi praised the role that media plays in conveying the message and discourse of the Jordanian state, Petra reported.

Safadi expressed the Chamber's keenness to help the sector overcome challenges and support the work of journalists. The media officials present at the meeting stressed their keenness to fulfill their professional duty to serve national interests.
